David Steele c22e10e4a9 Honor configure --prefix option. ... The --prefix option was entirely ignored and DESTDIR was a combination of DESTDIR and bindir. Bring both in line with recommendations for autoconf and make as specified in https://www.gnu.org/software/make/manual/html_node/Directory-Variables.html and https://www.gnu.org/prep/standards/html_node/DESTDIR.html.
