# Video.js and ReactJS integration
2017-01-26 23:16:52 +02:00
Here's a basic ReactJS player implementation.
2017-08-14 23:02:48 +02:00
It just instantiates the Video.js player on `componentDidMount` and destroys it on `componentWillUnmount`.
2017-01-26 23:16:52 +02:00
```jsx
import React from 'react';
import videojs from 'video.js'
export default class VideoPlayer extends React.Component {
componentDidMount() {
2017-08-14 23:02:48 +02:00
// instantiate Video.js
2017-01-26 23:16:52 +02:00
this.player = videojs(this.videoNode, this.props, function onPlayerReady() {
console.log('onPlayerReady', this)
});
}
// destroy player on unmount
componentWillUnmount() {
if (this.player) {
this.player.dispose()
}
}
// wrap the player in a div with a `data-vjs-player` attribute
// so videojs won't create additional wrapper in the DOM
// see https://github.com/videojs/video.js/pull/3856
render() {
return (
<div data-vjs-player>
<video ref={ node => this.videoNode = node } className="video-js"></video>
</div>
)
}
}
```

You can then use it like this: (see [options guide][options] for option information)
2017-01-26 23:16:52 +02:00
```jsx
const videoJsOptions = {
2017-02-14 17:41:58 +02:00
autoplay: true,
2017-01-26 23:16:52 +02:00
controls: true,
sources: [{
src: '/path/to/video.mp4',
type: 'video/mp4'
}]
}
return <VideoPlayer { ...videoJsOptions } />
```

Don't forget to include the Video.js CSS, located at `video.js/dist/video-js.css`.

## Using a React Component as a Video JS Component

* This is just a plain ol' React component.
* the vjsComponent methods, player methods etc. are available via
* the vjsComponent prop (`this.props.vjsComponent`)
