edd259f92f Change the order of parameters for ff_eval_expr() and 
ff_parse_and_eval_expr(), place the names for constants/functions
before the corresponding values.

This looks more readable, as the user is expected to know the names
before the values.

11491503c4 Move AVMediaType from libavcodec to libavutil. 
This allows applications/libraries which require that symbol
(e.g. libavfilter) to be compiled without to depend on the presence of
libavcodec/avcodec.h, which may not be installed.

eb285cfe8e Fix avcodec_align_dimensions to return values suitably aligned for FLV decoding

8d23a86f33 Add an execute2 function that is more flexible and allows to use parallel 
processing with jobs > threads without wasting too much memory.
It also avoids needing a separate int array when the only additional data
the jobs needs is a single int running from 0 to count-1.

7a00bbad21 Implement avcodec_decode_video2(), _audio3() and _subtitle2() which takes an 
AVPacket argument rather than a const uint8_t *buf + int buf_size. This allows
passing of packet-specific flags from demuxer to decoder, such as the keyframe
flag, which appears necessary to playback corePNG P-frames.

6e08ca9c51 Make the pixel formats which were defined as macros: 
PIX_FMT_ARGB
PIX_FMT_RGBA
PIX_FMT_ABGR
PIX_FMT_BGRA

defined as enum PixelFormat values, and viceversa make:
PIX_FMT_RGB32
PIX_FMT_RGB32_1
PIX_FMT_BGR32
PIX_FMT_BGR32_1

defined as macros, also resort accordingly the enum PixelFormat
list.
Also make avcodec_get_pix_fmt() recognize the "rgb32" and "bgr32"
aliases, in order to make ffmpeg pass regressions test.

This change breaks ABI backward compatibility.

54c441c860 Remove set_all_opt() and its use in av_set_string2(). Make 
av_set_string() and av_set_string2() do not accept as parameter the
name of a named constant.

This avoids av_set_string2() and av_set_string() to misbehave when
there is an option and a named constant with the same name.

7a961a46ba Make register_avcodec() call avcodec_init().

dd1c8f3e6e Bump Major version, this commit is almost just renaming bits_per_sample to 
bits_per_coded_sample but that cannot be done seperately.

987903826b Globally rename the header inclusion guard names. 
Consistently apply this rule: the guard name is obtained from the
filename by stripping the leading "lib", converting '/' and '.'  to
'_' and uppercasing the resulting name. Guard names in the root
directory have to be prefixed by "FFMPEG_".

d215d07ae0 get rid of unused entries in the middle of xvmc_render struct, 
extensions are added to the end of the struct (avoids build issues on 64 bits platform)
add osd extension to be used by mplayer (required by the resent changes in the build system)

29301573af add avcodec_get_context_defaults2() / avcodec_alloc_context2() which take CodecType as an additional parameter

8fa36ae09d This fixes error handling for BeOS, removing the need for some ifdefs. 
AVERROR_ defines are moved to avcodec.h as they are needed in there as well. Feel free to move that to avutil/common.h.
Bumped up avcodec/format version numbers as though it's binary compatible we will want to rebuild apps as error values changed.
Please from now on use return AVERROR(EFOO) instead of the ugly return -EFOO in your code.
This also removes the need for berrno.h.

eacb41b2e9 mp3 header (de)compression bitstream filter 
this will make mp3 frames 4 bytes smaller, it will not give you binary identical mp3 files, but it will give you mp3 files which decode to binary identical output
this will only work in containers providing at least packet size, sample_rate and number of channels
bugreports about mp3 files for which this fails are welcome
and this is experimental (dont expect compatibility and dont even expect to be able to decompress what you compressed, hell dont even expect this to work without editing the source a little)
